Project Information

Yellow Rosebush Energy Center, LLC is pleased to introduce a proposed 800 MW solar energy generation facility in Wasco County, Oregon. This facility will deliver many positive benefits to the local community.

The solar project is both an economic development opportunity for greater Wasco County and a significant revenue development opportunity for the local tax jurisdictions that deliver key services to residents.

The project will also benefit regional electricity consumers and the environment by generating clean, low-cost renewable energy and providing vital backup power that increases electric grid resilience and reduces outages.

Solar Benefits

Benefits of Solar Energy & Local Economic Benefits

A solar project provides a healthy, productive economic development opportunity for local land to harvest a stable cash crop – the sun. Benefits include positive impacts to the local economy through tax revenues to local governments and support to other local services. Host communities typically experience economic boosts for local businesses and supply chains as well as the opportunities for new jobs.

In addition to being safe and compatible with agricultural and rural residential uses, solar energy facilities exist in harmony with wildlife and the environment. They make good neighbors because they operate almost silently without producing odor or byproducts or attracting additional traffic.

In the bigger picture, solar energy projects provide an abundant, earth-friendly, sustainable power resource to help stabilize electricity costs. These amazing systems lessen carbon emissions and contribute to the diversification of the nation’s electricity grid.

The capital expense of the Yellow Rosebush project will benefit Wasco County by increasing the tax base without burdening their schools, roads (during operation), and other uses of property tax. If approved, Yellow Rosebush Energy Center will invest over $1 billion in the project. The new tax revenue will support Wasco County schools, first responders, and other infrastructure without placing additional strain on these services.
